Tai Chi
Mindful movement for balance, wellbeing, and inner peace.
There comes a moment when life asks us to slow down… not as a weakness, but as a return.
Tai Chi is that return.
A little about me
My path into Tai Chi didn’t begin in a gym or a training hall… it began on the road.
As a young man (18 year old teenager), I left behind the familiar and walked into the unknown, a journey that eventually led me into the life of a Buddhist monk. It was there, in the quiet spaces between movement and stillness, that I was introduced to Tai Chi, not just as a practice, but as a way of being. And at the time of writing this, I have 37 years of practice.
Over time, what began as learning movements became an understanding of energy, balance, and presence. Tai Chi revealed itself not as something to “master,” but something to soften into… and in that softening, everything changed.
Now, I share this practice with others, not to teach perfection, but to help you reconnect with what has always been within you.
What is Tai Chi?
Tai Chi is often described as a slow, flowing form of movement… but that’s only the surface.
Beneath the gentle motions lies something far deeper.
It is meditation in motion.
A conversation between breath and body.
A quiet unwinding of tension you didn’t even realise you were holding.
Each movement invites you to come out of the busy mind and back into yourself. Over time, this can help improve balance, flexibility, and overall wellbeing, while also bringing a sense of calm and clarity to everyday life.
Many people come to Tai Chi for stress relief, anxiety, or physical health… and find something far more meaningful waiting for them.
Classes & Sessions
I offer Tai Chi classes in Devon and Okehampton, at the moment, both in small groups and through one-to-one sessions, creating a space that is welcoming, supportive, and free from pressure.
Group Classes
These sessions are gentle, relaxed, and quietly joyful.
Currently run at Solace in Devon, a magical space for all, and let me tell you, solace it is...
We move together, breathe together, and share in the experience, each person at their own pace. Perfect for beginners and those looking for a sense of community.
Group classes with me are offered on a donation basis. So that everyone can experience the benefits of this practice, regardless of financial situation. Give what feels right for you, no pressure, no expectation. My intention is simple... To create a space where wellbeing, balance, and a sense of inner calm are available to all who feel called to step in.
One-to-One Sessions
For those who prefer a more personal approach, private Tai Chi lessons allow us to work closely with your individual needs, whether that’s improving balance, easing physical discomfort, or deepening your practice.
An open invitation
You don’t need to be flexible.
You don’t need experience.
You don’t even need to feel “ready.”
You simply need to arrive.
And from there… we begin.

An Ancient Path. A Modern Pilgrimage. A Journey of the Soul.
I recently Walked 750 Miles Across England… Chasing an Invisible Energy Line
(Yes, really. And no, I’m not entirely mad… probably.)
What started as “just a nice long walk” turned into the most profound, exhausting, hilarious, and soul-stirring adventure of my life.
I hiked and wild camped from Christchurch in Dorset to Lindisfarne in Northumberland, roughly 750 miles of blisters, beauty, and ancient mystery. But I wasn’t just wandering aimlessly (though there was some of that). I was following a true north line, an ancient path said to connect Neolithic tombs, Bronze Age stone circles, and Iron Age hillforts.
Basically, if it was mossy, mysterious, and possibly haunted, I slept next to it.
Along the way, I spoke to the wind, got rained on a lot, had deep chats with sheep, and felt the energy of our ancestors humming through the land. It was both deeply spiritual and, occasionally, profoundly soggy.
And I filmed the whole blooming thing! The highs. The lows. The lessons. The laughter. The ancient places. The inner shifts.
💛 So if your soul’s craving something real, raw, beautiful, a bit muddy, and deeply moving, come join the journey.💛
